• SIT-COM

ACTING FOR FILM&TELEVISION Instructors: Michael Laibson/Maggie Reed
Eight Classes $375/ WB Alumni $325 Class Size limited to twelve actors. Audition required
Scene work for Film/TV helps the actor make a transition from stage to acting within the camera frame. Re-focusing the physical energy required on stage to an intimate behavior-driven performance needed for on-camera work. Physical movement, blocking, cold reading of the script and work situations similar to actual “episodic” programming will also be covered. Filmed in a multiple camera studio, scenes are played-back and critiqued every session.

SIT-COM w/Maggie Reed
Eight Classes $375 /WB Alumni $325 Class Size limited to twelve actors. Audition required
In this workshop you learn the rules of Sit-Com Success. You’ll be given practical exercises to acquire the technique of the Masters. Work on current show material with different tasks for each assignment. By the last class you’ll know how to find the jokes in any comedic script, develop believable characters, and how to approach physical humor.

ADVANCED ACTING FOR FILM w/ Dir. Bill Hopkins
Eight Classes $375/ WB Alumni $325 Class Size limited to twelve actors. Audition required
Challenging and essential for actors working primarily in FILM. Actors are assigned scenes at the start of each class, learning them quickly and filming them, utilizing their instincts and experience, without over-analysis. The result is a positive impact on the actor's cold-reading and confidence in performance. No matter what previous training the actor has completed, Mr. Hopkins's method elicits the "no acting" style demanded for film. Using his own Digital Camera, lighting and expertise, Bill can provide students with a edited and scored DVD of their class work for a reasonable fee.

AUDITION COURSES recommended for trained actors actively pursuing work.
